THE TERRY FARRELL FIREFIGHTERS FUND
The Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund was established in memory of Terry Farrel, a decorated
member of Rescue 4/FDNY and Chief of Dix Hills Volunteer Fire Department. Terry, along with
342 of his brothers, perished on September 11, 2001 in the World Trade Center attack.
Our Fund is here to assist Firefighters and their families with educational, medical and
equipment needs.
Every 3 days, on average a Firefighter gives their life to protect us. Every few minutes another
Firefighter is seriously injured.
The Fund is here to support the
families of those Firefighters
when the need arises.
We support the Firefighters who
serve our communities.
SPECIAL GRANT
PROGRAM
Special grants are available to Firefighters and their families
across the nation. These grants are given out throughout the
year based on need shown by the requesting family. Some of the
examples are for special education, emergency medical
assistance, line of duty death, illness of the firefighter, illness of
child of firefighter.
The Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund has established a surplus
equipment program whereby we collect good usable fire equipment and gear from departments and distribute collected
equipment and gear to those departments, such as rural departments, lacking the tax base to buy needed clothing and
equipment. We have successfully given out turnout gear, hoses, helmets and vehicles to many departments across the Country.
There is never a cost to the receiving department. All request for surplus must be submitted in writing directly to a Chapter or
National Office.
ANSWER THE CALL
Our Fund operates on an annual budget of 1 to 3%. We have NO paid staff, and all of our members are firefighters and family
members who volunteer to make the lives of brothers & sister firefighters better. We are a 501c3 exempt organization. Without
your help and support we will cease to exist.
HARD TO REFUSE
The Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund was established to support the needs of firefighters and their families across this Nation. We
try hard never to refuse any request for aid. This can only be accomplished with the continued support of individuals and
corporations who believe in what we do.
HELP SUPPORT THE FUND
We are in need of corporate sponsors who will benefit from a National
Organization that has the ability to supply a volunteer sales force who can
promote our sponsors at every opportunity and every event. We
need fire departments to assist with donating surplus equipment
and apparatus to help those departments who lack finacial
resources to properly safeguard their members. We need all
brother firefighters to help get the word out.
