We are sending a few of our scholarship applications for your members to use. The Terry Fund once again this year has over $10,000 to give out to the families of Long Island firefighters. In the past many departments across the Island have said they did not know about our scholarship program so we are trying to make sure every volunteer firefighter on Long Island has the opportunity to win one of the 20 scholarships that will be available in July.

Please feel free to make as many copies as is required. Only one application will be accepted per student and the level of education is from the pre-school level right up to and through graduate studies. The only restriction is that the student must attend either a vocational or parochial institution. So a St. John's University would be acceptable but not a State University. However, if the student is attending a State institution for specialized training such as mechanic or hair dresser etc. such school would be allowed.

Scholarships will be awarded in amounts of $1000, $500 and $250 to be used by the student as they wish. In the case where the student is under the age of 18, the checks will be issued to a parent.

Additional applications can either be photo copied or downloaded from our New York website at the NY page. All applications must be received no later than July 19th, 2019 at 5 pm. Scholarships are drawn by lottery on July 28th, 2019. Good luck and please know the Terry Fund is here to assist firefighters and their families when the need arises.
